About Class 10

How we prepare students for the board paper

Many Class 10 students lose marks on topics they have studied. They run out of time. They skip the diagram. They leave out the keyword the examiner looks for. Some panic on a question they know.

So we plan the year in two parts. First we teach the syllabus and finish it by December. After that the work is past papers, timed sections and three pre-boards under exam conditions. We correct each answer and show where the marks were lost.

Year plan

The three phases of the board year

We keep this order. Students revise better after the syllabus is finished. Past papers need two full months to help.

01

April to December: teach the syllabus

We teach every chapter in Science, Maths, Social Science, English and Hindi, with a written test each Saturday. The lessons follow the CBSE syllabus and are taught in English.

02

December to February: past papers

There are no new chapters. Students solve ten years of CBSE board papers, sorted by chapter and by difficulty. They work on them in class and at home.

03

January to February: three pre-boards

Students write full papers in exam time, in an invigilated hall. We mark them to the board scheme and return a question-by-question breakdown. A session after each one covers time per section and the order of attempt.

Aims for the year

What We Work Towards in Class 10

  • A board score that leaves Science, Commerce and Arts all open for Class 11
  • Every question type from ten years of papers practised before the exam
  • Three pre-board scores that show how the student is improving
  • A talk with faculty about stream and career before Class 11 admission closes

Advice

Three things we tell Class 10 students

Reading the question

Read the question twice before you write. Every year some students write a good answer to a question that was not asked. Underline what the question wants.

Pre-boards

Write every pre-board as seriously as the board paper. It shows your weak chapters while there is still time to fix them. A low score in January tells you what to revise in February.

Step marking

Write the formula, the steps and the unit, and draw the diagram. Board marking is stepwise. A student who writes only the final answer loses marks even when it is right.

Class 10 questions

Questions Parents and Students Ask About Class 10

Which is the best coaching in Bettiah for CBSE Class 10?

No institute can prove it is the best, so compare things you can check. Ask how many students sit in one batch. Ask if there is a written test every week, and if the copies are checked. Ask if you can sit in a class before you pay. Knox Learning Academy teaches CBSE Class 10 in English medium at Signature Tower, Supriya Road, Bettiah. We finish the syllabus by December, then students write three pre-boards. You can check all of this in a free demo class. Call 92881 10034.

Do you teach the other classes too, from Class 6 to Class 12?

Yes. Knox teaches CBSE Class 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in English medium. In Class 11 and 12 there are two programmes: CBSE in English medium, and Bihar Board I.Sc. in Hindi medium and English medium. A student can stay at the same institute from Class 6 to Class 12.

When should a Class 10 student join to get the full benefit?

April or May, at the start of the session. A student can join later and catch up. But we still finish the syllabus by December. A student who joins in October gets the same revision months as everyone else, with less time for the syllabus.

Do you help with stream selection after Class 10?

Yes. Every student gets a counselling session with faculty before Class 11 admissions. We use the student’s test results from the whole year. If those results show that Science is not the right choice for a student, we say so.

Which board and medium do the Class 10 batches follow?

Our Class 10 batches follow the CBSE syllabus (NCERT books) and are taught in English. In the CBSE paper, about one fifth is multiple choice, and many questions ask you to apply an idea. CBSE also holds two board exams a year from 2026. The first is compulsory and the second is optional. Our weekly tests and pre-boards follow the CBSE pattern.

Where is Knox Learning Academy located?

We are in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar. Students come to our classes from Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Ramnagar, Chanpatia and nearby parts of West Champaran. Call 92881 10034 for directions or to book a campus visit.

Do you teach in Hindi or English?

It depends on the programme. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has a Hindi medium batch and an English medium batch. The entrance and government-exam batches run as the page for each one says. You get study material in the medium you enrol in.

Is there a scholarship or fee concession available?

Yes. Any applicant can sit our scholarship test. It gives fee waivers on merit. We also give concessions to siblings and to students from economically weaker families. Talk to the admissions desk about your case.

Can I attend a demo class before enrolling?

Yes. You can book a free demo class for any programme. You sit in a normal class with the batch you would join. Call 92881 10034 to reserve a seat.
