The Class 9 year in numbers

About Class 9
What changes in Class 9
Class 9 has much more to study than Class 8, and answers are marked more strictly. Students who used to revise only in the last week start to lose marks. It usually shows first in Mathematics and Physics. Class 10 chapters build on Class 9 chapters, so a gap here follows the student into the board year.
We finish the Class 9 syllabus by January. The remaining months go to past papers and answer-writing practice. A student needs to know the answer and also to write it the way the examiner marks it.
How we teach
How we run the Class 9 year
Many students treat Class 9 as a light year before the board exam. We teach it as the first half of board preparation.
The syllabus is finished by January
We teach every chapter by January. After that there are no new chapters. February and March go to revision, past papers and answer-writing practice before the school final exam.
Class every weekday
Class 9 has much more to study than Class 8. Students who fall behind usually do so first in Maths.

A fixed classroom routine
Air-conditioned rooms, a fixed seat, a fixed teacher and a fixed timetable for the whole year.
Answer-writing practice
Board examiners give marks for steps, keywords and diagrams. We teach that format and mark to the board scheme.
The JEE and NEET foundation module
The foundation module adds about four hours a week. We recommend it only when school marks are already comfortable.

Year plan
Your Class 9 year, month by month
The plan is fixed at the start of the year. Each student knows what is being taught, what is being tested and what comes next.
A test in every subject
Each student writes a short test in every subject. It shows us where the student stands now. We set the batches from these results.
Main teaching months
Most of the teaching happens here: Science, Maths, Social Science and languages. There is a written test every Saturday and a doubt hour every day after class.
Finishing the syllabus
We finish the remaining chapters. Tests now cover several chapters together, so students learn to keep older chapters in mind.
Revision and past papers
There are no new chapters. Students solve past papers in timed sections. We correct each answer for the way it is written as well as for the result.

Class 9 questions
Questions Parents Ask About Class 9
Which is the best coaching in Bettiah for CBSE Class 9?
No institute can prove it is the best, so compare things you can check. Ask how many students sit in one batch. Ask if there is a written test every week, and if the copies are checked. Ask if you can sit in a class before you pay. Knox Learning Academy teaches CBSE Class 9 in English medium at Signature Tower, Supriya Road, Bettiah. We finish the Class 9 syllabus by January, with a written test every Saturday. You can check all of this in a free demo class. Call 92881 10034.
Should my child join the JEE / NEET foundation module in Class 9?
Join it only if school marks are already comfortable. The foundation module adds about four hours a week. It helps a student who scores above 75%. A student who is struggling with the school syllabus should spend those hours on the school syllabus. We give you our recommendation after the first month of tests.
What is new in CBSE Class 9 from 2026–27?
NCERT has brought out new Class 9 textbooks for this session. CBSE has also announced an optional advanced-level paper in Maths and Science, in addition to the standard paper that every student writes. Schools are still putting these changes in place. Ask your school which books and papers it follows, and check cbseacademic.nic.in.
Do you teach in Hindi or English?
It depends on the programme. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has a Hindi medium batch and an English medium batch. The entrance and government-exam batches run as the page for each one says. You get study material in the medium you enrol in.
Can I attend a demo class before enrolling?

Which board and medium do the Class 9 batches follow?
