Knox in four facts

What to check
What you can check about Knox
Most coaching institutes advertise experienced faculty, smart classrooms and good results. A parent cannot easily check those claims. So this page lists things you can check on a visit.
Our batches are small. The teacher knows each student by name and knows which chapters that student is weak in. We share test marks with parents every month, including the poor ones. If we think a stream is the wrong choice for a child, we tell the family.
Promises
What we do not promise, and what we do
Many coaching advertisements promise more than they can deliver. These two lists say where Knox stands.
We do not say
- That we guarantee a rank, a selection or a percentage
- That every student who joins will clear the exam
- That a one-year batch can repair four years of weak basics
- That our results are the best in the district, without showing the batch size
- That competitive exam preparation suits every child
We do commit to
- A teacher who knows which chapters your child is weak in
- A written test every week, marked on the exam scheme and returned quickly
- A monthly report that gives poor marks early, so you have time to act
- The batch size, the number who sat the exam and the number who cleared it, for any parent who asks
- A clear answer at counselling, even if it means you do not enrol
Day to day
Six things we do at Knox
These are routine things. Together they mean that a teacher follows each student’s progress.
Teachers from engineering and medical backgrounds
Our subject teachers come from engineering and medical backgrounds. It shapes the problems they set and the mistakes they look for. They notice quickly when a student has memorised a method without understanding it.
Batches are capped
Each batch is small, so the teacher knows every student. We keep the cap even when more students want a seat. The teacher knows which chapter each student is weak in.
Hindi medium in full
In a Hindi medium batch, teaching, study material, test papers and answer keys are all in Hindi. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has Hindi and English medium batches. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English.

The campus
Air-conditioned digital classrooms, a quiet study hall open outside class hours, CCTV throughout, and a staffed reception.
One institute for every stage
We teach Class 6 to Class 12, then competitive and government exams. A student can continue with teachers who already know how he or she learns.
A monthly report
Every month we send home attendance, test scores and the topics to revise. You get it while there is still time to work on them.

FAQ
Questions parents ask about Knox
How is Knox different from the other coaching institutes in Bettiah?
In two things: batch size and reporting. We keep batches small so that a teacher can follow each student. We send parents a report every month, and it includes poor marks. A family that hears about a problem early has time to fix it.
Do you guarantee selection or a particular result?
No. Be careful with any institute that does. We commit to the teaching, the tests, the doubt clearing and a report on where the student stands. The result depends on how the student uses these.
Where is Knox Learning Academy located?
We are in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar. Students come to our classes from Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Ramnagar, Chanpatia and nearby parts of West Champaran. Call 92881 10034 for directions or to book a campus visit.
Do you teach in Hindi or English?
It depends on the programme. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has a Hindi medium batch and an English medium batch. The entrance and government-exam batches run as the page for each one says. You get study material in the medium you enrol in.
Is there a scholarship or fee concession available?
Yes. Any applicant can sit our scholarship test. It gives fee waivers on merit. We also give concessions to siblings and to students from economically weaker families. Talk to the admissions desk about your case.
Can I attend a demo class before enrolling?
Yes. You can book a free demo class for any programme. You sit in a normal class with the batch you would join. Call 92881 10034 to reserve a seat.
