Mock Tests
in Exam Conditions
Exam duration, an invigilator, and OMR sheets where the exam uses them. Each result shows your batch rank and why each mark was lost.

What you get back after every mock test

Score and rank
Why every mock test comes back with a rank
A score of 140 in a mock test tells you little alone. You need to know whether the batch averaged 90 or 160. So every Knox mock test comes back with a rank as well as a score. Competitive exams are decided by rank, and a student should know theirs.
After the test comes a discussion class on the questions most of the batch got wrong. Each student also gets a breakdown of where the marks went: wrong concept, calculation slip, misread question, or no time left. Each of the four needs a different fix.

How a useful mock test is run
A mock test helps when it is written in exam conditions and followed up afterwards. These are the things to check.
Common problems with mock tests
- Written at home, with no time limit and the book within reach
- A score with nothing to compare it against
- Returned two weeks later, when you have forgotten your reasoning
- A total mark, with no reason given for the lost marks
- No discussion, so the same mistake comes back in the next paper
How we run ours
- Correct duration, an invigilated hall, OMR where the exam uses it, phones collected
- Your position in the batch printed beside your score
- Returned quickly, while you still remember your reasoning
- Every lost mark tagged: concept, calculation, misread, or time
- A discussion class on the most common mistakes
Before and after
What happens around each paper
Most of the learning from a mock test happens in the days before and after it.
Date and syllabus announced
The syllabus and date are given in advance, so students revise for the test. Planned revision is the habit we want students to build.
Exam conditions
Correct duration, a seating plan, an invigilator, OMR sheets where the exam uses them, and no phones. A student who has done this many times is calmer in the exam.
Marked, ranked, returned
The paper is marked by the scheme of the exam. It comes back with a per-question breakdown and your position in the batch, while you still remember the questions.
Discussion and correction
First there is a class on the questions the batch found hard. Then the teacher sits with you one to one and works on the type of mistake that cost you the most marks.

What we work towards
What regular mock tests are for
- A student who has written many full papers and stays calm in the exam hall
- A rank in the batch, updated through the year
- Each student’s repeated mistakes found and corrected
- A plan for using the time in the paper, tried across several mock tests
Advice
Three things we tell students about mock scores
When to start
Start full papers early. A low score in October shows you what to fix while there is time. The same score in February leaves very little time.
Reading your result
Two papers of different length or difficulty give scores you cannot compare. Compare your rank in the batch from one paper to the next.
Types of mistake
If most of your lost marks come from misreading the question, more study will not fix it. Read each question for ten more seconds. The breakdown of your paper shows which kind of mistake you make.

Questions about mock tests
How often are mock tests held?
Weekly topic tests run throughout every programme. Full mock tests start once most of the syllabus is done. For board students that is usually the last term. For competitive students it is the last four to six months.
Can I take mock tests if I am not enrolled in a Knox programme?
Yes. You can join the test series alone, without full coaching. Call 92881 10034 for the current test-series fee and the schedule for your exam.
Where is Knox Learning Academy located?
We are in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar. Students come to our classes from Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Ramnagar, Chanpatia and nearby parts of West Champaran. Call 92881 10034 for directions or to book a campus visit.
Do you teach in Hindi or English?
It depends on the programme. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has a Hindi medium batch and an English medium batch. The entrance and government-exam batches run as the page for each one says. You get study material in the medium you enrol in.
Is there a scholarship or fee concession available?
Yes. Any applicant can sit our scholarship test. It gives fee waivers on merit. We also give concessions to siblings and to students from economically weaker families. Talk to the admissions desk about your case.
Can I attend a demo class before enrolling?
Yes. You can book a free demo class for any programme. You sit in a normal class with the batch you would join. Call 92881 10034 to reserve a seat.
