When to start

Read a past paper in your first month

Most students finish the syllabus first and open past papers in the last weeks. By then a paper can only measure you. Read early, a past paper shows what the examiner asks, how deep the questions go, and which chapters carry more marks.

So read one in your first month. You will not be able to answer much yet. You will know what you are preparing for during the rest of the year.

How to use them

Three ways to use a past paper

Many students keep past papers for a final rehearsal. They also help you plan the year, so start early.

01

Read one in your first month

You will not be able to answer much yet. You will see which chapters carry more marks and how deep the questions go.

02

Solve chapter-wise while you learn

When you finish a chapter, collect every question on it from the last ten papers and solve them together. You will see the few ways examiners ask the same idea.

03

Write full papers on the clock at the end

In the last months, write complete papers on the exam timing, without breaks. This teaches you to pace the paper, and many students lose marks to poor pacing.

Questions about past papers

How many years of past papers should I work through?

For board exams, the last five years cover the current pattern well, and ten years is thorough. For JEE and NEET, go back ten years. For UPSC and BPSC, go back as far as you can, because question themes repeat. Check the current exam pattern first, since older papers may follow an older one.

Do I need to be a Knox student to download these?

No. These are public exam papers. They are free, with no login and no enrolment.

Are solutions provided with the papers?

Yes, where the conducting body has released an official answer key or marking scheme. For older papers, and for papers with no official key, we give the paper alone. We do not add unofficial keys.

What if the paper I need is not in the list?

The library is still being built, and some exams have no papers uploaded yet. Call 92881 10034 and tell us the exam and the year. We will send you the paper if the conducting body has released it.

Want your answers checked as well?

Our test series marks your paper by the scheme of the exam, ranks it in the batch, and shows where you lost marks. You can join it without full coaching.
