About Class 8

Why Class 8 Is an Important Year

Class 8 is the last year before the Class 9 and 10 syllabus begins. Many Class 8 ideas come back in Class 9 and Class 10. Equations, the cell, force and pressure, and elements and compounds are some of them. JEE and NEET preparation uses them too. A student who understands them now finds the next two years easier.

In Class 8 we teach the basics slowly and give a lot of practice. We cover the full CBSE syllabus, in English medium. Strong students also get Olympiad-style reasoning questions.

Concept firstEach topic starts with an example from daily life or a simple demonstration in class. The formula comes after that.
Weekly written testsA short test every Saturday on the week’s topics. It is marked and returned with written feedback, so the student can correct each mistake.
Foundation for JEE & NEETOlympiad-style Maths and Science questions for students who plan to take Science after Class 10. This module is optional.
Parent progress reportsA monthly report with attendance, test scores and teacher feedback. You can see how your child is doing each month.

Advice

Three things we tell Class 8 parents

Study routine

Class 8 marks alone do not decide anything. Watch if your child can sit down and study without being pushed. We work on that routine from the first week.

Reading and understanding

When a child says “I have done this chapter”, ask them to explain it in their own words. If they cannot, they have only read it. Our Saturday test checks the same thing.

The foundation module

We do not push every Class 8 student towards JEE or NEET. The foundation module is optional. If your child should focus on school marks this year, we will tell you.

FAQ

Common questions

Which is the best coaching in Bettiah for CBSE Class 8?

No institute can prove it is the best, so compare things you can check. Ask how many students sit in one batch. Ask if there is a written test every week, and if the copies are checked. Ask if you can sit in a class before you pay. Knox Learning Academy teaches CBSE Class 8 in English medium at Signature Tower, Supriya Road, Bettiah. There is a written test every week, in small batches. You can check all of this in a free demo class. Call 92881 10034.

Do you teach the other classes too, from Class 6 to Class 12?

Yes. Knox teaches CBSE Class 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in English medium. In Class 11 and 12 there are two programmes: CBSE in English medium, and Bihar Board I.Sc. in Hindi medium and English medium. A student can stay at the same institute from Class 6 to Class 12.

Which board and medium do the Class 8 batches follow?

Our Class 8 batches follow the CBSE syllabus (NCERT books) and are taught in English.

Is Class 8 too early to start competitive exam preparation?

It is too early for full JEE or NEET preparation. It is a good time for the foundation module. This module gives Olympiad-style reasoning questions that build problem-solving. It is optional, and it is kept separate from the school syllabus. School marks come first.

Where is Knox Learning Academy located?

We are in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar. Students come to our classes from Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Ramnagar, Chanpatia and nearby parts of West Champaran. Call 92881 10034 for directions or to book a campus visit.

Do you teach in Hindi or English?

It depends on the programme. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has a Hindi medium batch and an English medium batch. The entrance and government-exam batches run as the page for each one says. You get study material in the medium you enrol in.

Is there a scholarship or fee concession available?

Yes. Any applicant can sit our scholarship test. It gives fee waivers on merit. We also give concessions to siblings and to students from economically weaker families. Talk to the admissions desk about your case.

Can I attend a demo class before enrolling?

Yes. You can book a free demo class for any programme. You sit in a normal class with the batch you would join. Call 92881 10034 to reserve a seat.
