About the exam

What is new in CUET for a Class 12 student

The CUET domain papers follow the Class 12 NCERT syllabus. A student who is preparing well for boards has already studied most of it. So our CUET course runs alongside Class 12 and starts from what you know.

The format is new. Each paper has 50 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, and all of them are compulsory. A right answer gives 5 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1. Board exams ask for long written answers. CUET asks you to pick one of four options in about a minute. That needs separate practice.

The General Aptitude Test is also new. It was earlier called the General Test. It has reasoning, numbers, general knowledge and current affairs, and no board syllabus teaches these. Many students leave it to the last month. We teach it from the start of the course.

Course plan

From subject choice to seat allotment

The course has six parts. It starts before the application form and continues through counselling after the result.

01

Subject choice first

We start from the universities and courses you want. From their rules we work out which papers you should register for. A wrong subject choice on the form can make you ineligible for the course you want.

02

Domain classes alongside Class 12

The same NCERT chapters as your board class, taught again for multiple-choice questions. We cover definitions, exceptions, figures and the small differences between similar terms.

03

General Aptitude Test as a subject

Reasoning, numerical ability and current affairs have a fixed weekly slot from the start of the course. No board syllabus covers them.

04

Timed practice, paper by paper

Fifty questions in sixty minutes, with negative marking applied. Regular practice makes this speed normal before the exam.

05

Full mocks with test review

A full paper every week. In the review, each lost mark is sorted by cause: did not know it, misread it, calculation slip or wrong guess.

06

Application and counselling support

When to register, which subjects to pick, and how to order your university choices. We also explain seat allotment after the result, including CSAS for Delhi University.

  • A counselling preference order that matches your score

Advice

Three things we tell every CUET student

Subject choice

Check the subject rules of each course before you fill in the form. If you register for the wrong domain papers, you may not be eligible for the course you want.

Speed

CUET uses the same syllabus as your boards, but gives about one minute per question. Teaching the chapter again does not fix speed. Timed practice does.

General Aptitude Test

No board syllabus covers reasoning, numbers and current affairs. Start this paper early and give it a fixed slot every week.

CUET questions

Questions Students Ask About CUET Coaching

Can CUET preparation run alongside Class 12 board classes?

Yes. The domain papers follow the Class 12 NCERT syllabus, so most of the content is the same as your board preparation. We add revision for multiple-choice questions, the General Aptitude Test and timed practice. The CUET course is extra hours on top of board classes.

Is CUET only for Delhi University?

No. Most central universities admit students through CUET UG. These include BHU, JNU, AMU and Jamia Millia Islamia. In Bihar, Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari and the Central University of South Bihar take CUET scores. Many state, deemed and private universities accept them as well.

Where is Knox Learning Academy located?

We are in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar. Students come to our classes from Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Ramnagar, Chanpatia and nearby parts of West Champaran. Call 92881 10034 for directions or to book a campus visit.

Is there a scholarship or fee concession available?

Yes. Any applicant can sit our scholarship test. It gives fee waivers on merit. We also give concessions to siblings and to students from economically weaker families. Talk to the admissions desk about your case.

How many subjects should I register for?

In the 2026 pattern a candidate may take up to five papers, counting languages and the General Aptitude Test. How many you take depends on the courses you want. Every university publishes the subjects it needs for each course. We go through those rules with you before you fill in the form. Four papers prepared well are better than five prepared badly.

Does CUET have negative marking?

Yes. In the 2026 pattern a right answer gives 5 marks and a wrong answer takes away 1. Every question is compulsory, and a question left blank gets zero. If you can rule out two options, a guess is usually worth taking. A blind guess among four options usually is not. Our strategy sessions cover this.

Do you teach in Hindi or English?

It depends on the programme. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has a Hindi medium batch and an English medium batch. The entrance and government-exam batches run as the page for each one says. You get study material in the medium you enrol in.

Can I attend a demo class before enrolling?

Yes. You can book a free demo class for any programme. You sit in a normal class with the batch you would join. Call 92881 10034 to reserve a seat.
