How the sets are ordered

Why the questions come in three levels

A question bank helps only when the questions are in order. A pile of mixed questions frustrates a Class 10 student. A set that gets harder step by step shows progress. Every Knox question set has three tiers: foundation, board or exam level, and stretch.

Students work through the tiers in order. Teachers note which tier each student has reached in each chapter. That record tells us when a student has finished a chapter.

The three tiers

What each tier contains

Students do the tiers in order. A student who starts on the hardest questions with weak basics usually loses confidence.

01

Tier 1, Foundation

Direct questions on the concept just taught. A student who cannot clear this tier has not understood the chapter yet, and harder practice will not help. Finish this tier fully before moving up.

02

Tier 2, Exam level

Questions worded and set at the level of the exam paper. School students get the board pattern. Competitive students get the JEE, NEET or SSC pattern. Every student should become comfortable at this tier.

03

Tier 3, Stretch

Harder problems that mix two or three ideas, for students already steady at exam level. This tier is optional. It gives strong students harder work and puts no pressure on the others.

What we work towards

What the question banks are for

  • A record, chapter by chapter, of the tier each student has reached
  • Revision aimed at the weak topic, so a student need not redo the whole subject
  • Methods a student can use on questions they have not seen before
  • Difficulty that rises step by step up to exam papers

Not sure which tier your child is at?

Come for a free counselling session. We give a short test, tell you where your child stands chapter by chapter, and show you the question sets they would use.

Questions about the practice sets

Are the practice question banks free?

Yes, for enrolled students. Every Knox student gets the question banks for their programme at no extra cost, in the medium of their batch. We do not sell them separately at the moment.

Where is Knox Learning Academy located?

We are in Bettiah, West Champaran, Bihar. Students come to our classes from Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, Ramnagar, Chanpatia and nearby parts of West Champaran. Call 92881 10034 for directions or to book a campus visit.

Is there a scholarship or fee concession available?

Yes. Any applicant can sit our scholarship test. It gives fee waivers on merit. We also give concessions to siblings and to students from economically weaker families. Talk to the admissions desk about your case.

How do I know which tier to work at?

Your teacher tells you for each chapter, based on your test marks. Finish the foundation set before you move up. A student who jumps to hard questions with weak basics usually loses confidence.

Do you teach in Hindi or English?

It depends on the programme. Class 6 to 10 and CBSE Class 11 and 12 are taught in English. Bihar Board I.Sc. (Class 11 and 12) has a Hindi medium batch and an English medium batch. The entrance and government-exam batches run as the page for each one says. You get study material in the medium you enrol in.

Can I attend a demo class before enrolling?

Yes. You can book a free demo class for any programme. You sit in a normal class with the batch you would join. Call 92881 10034 to reserve a seat.
