How the Inter Paper Is Set

The Bihar Board Class 12 exam is also called the Intermediate exam. It is held once a year, early in the year. A science student sits five subjects of 100 marks each.

Each theory paper has two halves. One half is objective, with one-mark questions and four options. The other half is written, with short and long answers. Both halves need their own practice.

We last checked this page in October 2026. Exam rules can change. Read the official notice on biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in before you apply.

How to prepare

Four Habits for the Inter Exam

Objective questions are quick marks for a student who has practised them. The written answers need separate practice.

01

Practise objective questions by chapter

Half the theory marks are objective. Solve past objective questions for every chapter.

02

Write long answers by hand

The written half needs steps, diagrams and correct terms. Have your answers checked.

03

Solve past Bihar Board papers

Use the board’s own past papers and model papers, with a clock. The style repeats.

04

Prepare the practical

Thirty marks in each science subject come from the practical. Do not leave it to the last week.
